More Information

Scientists at the University of Southern California's Information Sciences Institute (USC/ISI) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) think you can help. They believe that if a computer has enough pieces of information, organized in the right way, then the computer will be able to think on its own. And they are trying to prove it, by feeding a computer millions of bits of common sense. In fact, the researchers call their work the Common Sense Project.

And you can take part! The information you enter at this kiosk will go to ISI, joining facts collected from thousands of other people around the world. Who knows? Maybe someday you'll turn on a computer and it will talk back to you, and you'll know you helped build that!
